Can you say Mood Swing?

I decided I wasn’t going to just sit around and whine.  It’s just not my style. Although it’s tempting!

I’m the kind of girl who does something, who makes changes, when something isn’t working I do whatever it takes!

Okay, I’m talking trash right now but isn’t that what’s needed to get my goals accomplished???

So we headed to the library (because I’m too cheap to buy books) so the girls could get some new books and so I could find some books that could help me make some informed decisions on what I am going to do to reach my goals.

I am reading a book (1 of 3 checked out) called Ultimate Fitness: The Quest For truth About Exercise and Health by  Gina Kolata, 2003. Clearly not a new book but so far I am amazed at some of the information about the history of exercise.

I went for a 5 mile bike ride in the evening after it cooled a bit and felt much better.  I am planning my long run for Sunday and praying I will get up early!!!

OH and I made this guy for my youngest this morning.

She wanted IHOP, we don’t need no steenkeeng IHOP!

Stay cool this Saturday, It’s gonna be like 114 today here!

I’m a loser baby….

so why don’t ya kill me?

Ok not really! I mean the kill me part, I am totally a loser right now!

So I managed to go from being pretty full of myself to now feeling like a loser.  I have been fighting this feeling for awhile now becasue I read so many awesome blogs with people who can kill a run like it’s nobody’s business and are super thin or well on their way to being that way!

Frustrated may be a more accurate term.  It’s not like I am a wooly mammoth or anything but I would like to lose the flab.  I also want to run faster and longer.  I know all of this takes time but I have the parience of a toddler!!!

Then I wake up this morning and it is clearly to hot and humid to run so I don’t!  Now I feel like I should have just sucked it up and left with water.  On the other hand I feel like another bad run would make my self-esteem implode on itself!

Not sure where I need to go from here but I need to do something.  I hate the thought of going on a diet because I think I would just fall off the wagon and eat everything in my fridge and gain it all back.  Which I have done on multiple occasions!!!

I have made changes to my eating such as eating healthier options and have done so for about 3 weeks now! I haven’t ate fast food for almost 4 weeks which by the way was about 40% of what I ate before that and the scale has not budged!!! Neither have my clothes!

Basically, I’m freaking out here people!

Ok, enough whining, geez!

Do the Friday dance!!!!!

I have a cramp in my hammy!!!!

We ended up going to the pool and once again I have no pics.  We took pics.  We have them but I can’t get them uploaded.

I swear I am not this technologically stupid!!!

We had so much fun. I may or may not have jumped from the diving board multiple times and well as done flips in the water!!!

FYI, when you are 31 and have no flexibility if you attempt to do a backflip in the water you may cramp up in the Hammy area!!!!

Ugh, I really need to go back to doing yoga!!!

It was fun though!  If I get the pics anytime in the near future I will post them!

Oh my gosh so yesterday evening we had a knock at the door.  There was a lady who was walking her dog and noticed our license plate so she decided to stop becasue she is also from our hometown in Indiana!!! What??? Craziness!  She said she lives on the other side of the block and she has lived here about 19 years (I think) and she has a salon over on the island (can you say hallelujah I found someone to fix me up!)

What a crazy small world!!!

Today, I need to hit up the grocery store and then I am not sure what!!!

Thursday is my favorite day of the week, do you have a favorite day? Why?

So in that last and most unflattering pic, I was saying, “Ok, are you ready? I’m gonna do a jump.”  And my husband was evidently too busy avoiding the glare off my legs to hear what I was saying and completely missed my awesome jump!

At least my meaty paleness is documented for posterity.

Happy Humpday!!!!

Feeling pretty full of myself right now!

Yesterday afternoon I took a quick 4.25 mile bike ride on my lovely beach cruiser!

Then the girls and I headed out to get school supplies. We went to Office Depot first to grab some sales then headed to Target.

Honestly I knew I was headed into a spiral without Ryan there to talk me down but then again that’s why I didn’t take him with me isn’t it? ;-)

I was good at Target, I got two tops on Clearance $5 each!!!

Nothing too exciting really. But I got My youngest like 3 shirts and a skirt for under $15 total!!!!

Then after some contemplation I headed over to TJMaxx.  I tried on a ton of clothes and so did the girls. I got my youngest 3 dresses and a top and my oldest got 3 tops and a pair of wedges!!! Wedges that Momma may end up borrowing :-)

I also bought myself a different pair of wedges.

I also got something I have wanted for a long time. See my thighs touch…shocking I know but they do.  When it’s hot and your legs go back and forth over and over as in a running motion they tend to chafe.

So I wanted a pair of tights. I am also cheap.  See the issue?

But I found these for $16! Sold!

I am not awake in that shot and I was having issue trying to get a pic. It’s not the best but that’s what you’re getting sorry!

I almost forgot, at Target I also got a cheap mirror because I left mine in Indiana.

Yes I do believe it is a funhouse mirror! That or I lost weight on my run becuase I clearly look thinner in the second picture but they were both from today!!!

I heart my funhouse mirror!!!!

Anyhoo, I did got in a 2.3 mile (random number, I know) run this morning and it was pretty good!!!

Professional Sleeper

So I woke up sore today and I have no idea why. I didn’t do anything yesterday. I mean seriously I slept half the day so I have no idea what happened.

Or did I make myself sore from laying too much? LOL

I guess it could’ve been worse…

At least I didn’t pee my pants!  Seriously that picture grosses me out!

I am gonna flip the mattress and pray I am sore from laziness and get up and move today!  You know you are a professional sleeper when you wake up sore!

August Goals

Thanks to Katie over at keepingupwithkatie.com I tried to participate in her 25 Days of July Challenge.

I knew it was a lofty goal for me! I am not super consistent with working out daily (which is bad, I know) but we also moved 800 miles in July so that sorta put a cramp on my plan.

Out of the 31 days I worked out:

15 days

38.7 miles

4 days with multiple workouts

I added in strength training!!!!

Basically the middle of the month killed me! I did really well at the beginning and at the end!  If you count my moving days that adds 4 days of workouts bringing the total to 19 but I still didn’t do what I was capable of doing! I am excited that I made a goal though.

Now thinking about my goals for August I know I need to accomplish a few things. Mainly I need to be more aware of what I am putting into my body.  I don’t really do this and it will help my running (not to mention my weight) tremendously if I do this.

I also need to increase my mileage. This part is some what of a given because I am training for the Rock n Roll Savannah Half Marathon.  My only concern (let’s be real here, excuse) is that I will be starting working again on the 10th and I don’t quite know what my schedule is going to look like.  My schedule can be anything from very routine to very hectic and I don’t really know ahead of time what it will be.

So my goals for August are:

Run at least 3 times a week per training schedule.

Consistently cross-train. (per schedule).

At least increase my eating awareness.

Not lofty goals but they can be very important! :-)

Playing at Jekyll Island

We had so much fun yesterday! Too bad there was a small storm that ended it a little earlier than planned!

I decided to practice my Captain Morgan stance atop rocks on Driftwood Beach!  Then we played in the water. It was so calm and peaceful! I dig peaceful!

Then we had Gluten Free DeBoles spaghetti, marinara with mushrooms and tomatoes and homemade garlic bread made from Udi’s Gluten Free bread.

I looked the same but felt posting her picture would be less embarassing! :-)
